Taser fails versus armed shoplifter
This footage from 22 February 2026 comes courtesy of the Orange County Sheriff's Department in Orlando, Florida. A masked man armed with a knife was observed shoplifting a whole cart's worth of items. When a Deputy intercepted him, he was noncompliant to commands, at which point the deputy discharged his TASER. Unfortunately, the TASER did not have a discernable effect, which allowed the suspect to reach for his knife. Because of the imminent lethal threat, the Deputy opened fire. Although the suspect, identified as one Jason Beal, survived his non-life-threatening injuries, viewer discretion remains advised.

This compilation of bodycam and bystander footage comes from San Diego County, California. On 18 February, 2026, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a Hyundai Elantra which appeared to have been stolen. As other units arrived to assist with the investigation, the passenger refused to comply with further commands and rolled up the window whilst grabbing a handgun. The deputies removed the driver from the vehicle, but the suspect began to raise the weapon. Although TASERS were used to stop him, they proved ineffective. This gave the suspect, identified as Andre Mendez, 33 years of age, time to fire twice before being struck by gunfire from six officers. Although aid was rendered on-scene, Mendez did not survive. This bodycam footage comes from Daytona Beach, Florida on 12 March 2026. In enforcing an ordinance which prohibits drinking alcohol in public spaces (otherwise known as an "Open Container" of alcohol), an officer is shown ordering the perpetrator to pour the alcohol out. However, the suspect defers, handing the officer the bottle to dispose of himself. Here, things go off the rails. Although it's not caught on camera, the officer alleges that the man threw the cork from the bottle at him, at which point he moved in to detain him. Other officers assisted, resulting in the man down on the ground. While the official statement reads that the detained man/suspect continued to resist and grab officers, bystander footage allegedly shows that he was already restrained when several blows were delivered. A TASER was also allegedly discharged, despite the restraints. In addition to open container violations, the suspect was charged with battery on a LEO. Rather tellingly, the contact officer has been reassigned away from patrol duty, pending investigation. Prima facie, what it looks like actually happened is this officer let tequila cork hurt his feelings and crossed a line. Viewer discretion is advised due to subject matter.

This footage, a compilation of bodycam and dashcam footage, comes from the Sheriff's Office in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin. On 02 March 2026, Deputies observed a vehicle travelling in excess of 130 miles per hour and gave chase. During the pursuit, information was relayed that the driver had purchased a pellet gun and had expressed suicidal intentions. When Stop Sticks punctured two of the car's tires, bringing the chase to an end, the driver opened fire with a pair of pellet guns. He was trying to force the Fond Du Lac Deputies to end him, in a scenario which plays out with sobering frequency. However, thanks to the foreknowledge of the circumstances, the police didn't take the bait. Instead, they used a combination of Less-Than-Lethal beanbag rounds and excellent K9 work to incapacitate and detain the subject. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment and evaluation. While thankfully no one was seriously injured, due to the subject matter, viewer discretion remains advised. While many people with suicidal thoughts and intentions see it as the lifting of a burden, it all too frequently puts that burden on the shoulders of people who don't deserve it and will carry it for the rest of their lives. I am profoundly glad that these deputies had the wherewithal, professionalism, and restraint that they showed here, both for the subject's and their own sake. This compilation of bodycam footage comes from Newark, New Jersey. On 19 January, 2026, surveillance units detected narcotics-related activity and described the two suspect vehicles. While one vehicle was successfully stopped and its occupant detained, the suspect in the other car, a white Chrysler, attempted to flee. A Newark Officer noticed the Chrysler backing up, at which point he put his hand on the hood and told the driver to stop. Rather than do so, the driver moved the car forward, at which point the officer fired his weapon. Both the driver and a passenger were hit, and the Chrysler rolled into a parked car. The officer provided immediate aid and transport to an area hospital, but the driver was pronounced deceased thereafter. The other wounded passenger was treated and released. This bodycam footage from Buffalo, New York shows police attempting to detain a person who, whilst undergoing a mental health crisis, had threatened several people with knives. Although they succeeded in making contact and getting him to open the door, further compliance ceased as he advanced toward them, knives in-hand. One officer went the non-lethal route, but their TASER failed, precluding any other option but lethal force from the other officer as the person, now a threat, advanced. Viewer discretion is advised. The suspect, identified as one Charles Butler, 58 years of age, had an extensive history of violent crime. After being struck twice by the officer's gunfire, he was transported to an area hospital, where he later perished.

This quick bodycam footage from Pasco County, Florida shows deputies attempting to arrest a suspect who had shot two people, one of whom later died. The suspect was located in a nearby garage. Although the Pasco Sheriff's Office tried to de-escalate and arrest the suspect peacefully, he proved noncompliant and the situation devolved into a gunfight. During the exchange, both the suspect and a deputy were hit. As shown, the deputy did a great job of recovering his gun and staying focused on the fight. Although the deputy and suspect both survived, viewer discretion remains advised. The violence allegedly stemmed from a property dispute, and the suspect was identified as one Aaron Rodriguez, 32 years of age. He was ultimately taken into custody by other Pasco deputies, who also secured his weapon. Rodriguez, his victim (who initially called 911) and the deputy all survived their respective injuries. The K9 officer shown was also unharmed despite being in the line of fire.

This footage comes from San Diego California, where officers were attempting to interdict a stolen vehicle. Despite spike strips taking out his front two tires, the suspect led SDPD officers on a chase before striking a light pole. When the suspect exited the vehicle, what appeared to be a handgun fell out. Although initially compliant, the suspect reached for the object and was shot by one of the responding officers. The suspect survived thanks to care provided on-scene and rapid transport, and the item he reached for was revealed to be a revolver-shaped lighter. Viewer discretion is advised. Edwaun Thames, 39 years of age, was charged with Felony Evading in a Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Vehicle Theft. One of the responding officers was injured by glass from the light pole, but all parties- including Thames- are expected to make full recoveries.

Bodycam and dashcam footage of a shootout in Washington State is finally being made public after the incident and investigations, which began in 2023, came to a close. After chasing a suspiciously-driven white pickup, Pierce County deputies became embroiled in an immediate and fierce gunfight. During the exchange with the suspect, one of the deputies was hit, taking a round in his handcuff case and vest. Although the suspect- later implicated in a double homicide- survived the initial shootout and arrest, he died several days later at an area hospital. In response to his death, his partner in the murder was additionally charged with animal cruelty for providing a horse for Olsen to "ride to Valhalla." Because of the content matter and included audio, viewer discretion is advised. Kody Olsen was observed driving in the wrong lane and initially suspected of DUI, but when the Pierce Co. deputies attempted to interdict him, he fled at a high rate of speed. He lost control of his vehicle on a dirt road and immediately began shooting at the deputies, striking one. He suffered non-threatening injuries thanks to his protective vest. A total of four deputies returned fire. After the gunfire abated, the deputies attempted to call Olsen out of the truck, but he refused to comply, at which point SWAT was called. They used a drone to determine he was no longer a threat. He yelled requests to be killed, made references to an "Omerta Empire Gang" and stated "you built us." A month after his extraction, arrest, transport and eventual death, he was implicated as partly responsible for a double murder in a "drug deal gone bad." Where this gets weird: despite claiming Olsen was solely responsible, his partner in the murder reportedly killed a horse upon news of Olsen's death, so that Olsen would "have a steed to ride to Valhalla."

This compilation of dashcam and bodycam footage comes from Brentwood, California. It shows local police conducting a stop for suspected DUI. However, the officers found what appears to be a short-barreled AR-platform rifle in his car. Upon their attempt to arrest him, the suspect fought off the three officers in a bid to reach the rifle. When he reached for it, a Brentwood police officer shot and downed him. Despite aid provided, the suspect, identified as Romaine Morgan, 43 years of age, died on-scene. Viewer discretion is advised.

This footage, from an in-car dashcam in Pretoria, South Africa, shows four men who had just committed a drive-by. Video from a criminal's perspective is fairly rare. Although the two up front seem excited, even calling to report a job well done to somebody, reality is beginning to set in for the pair in the back as the police pursue. Note in particular the fellow siting behind the driver, who has little to say and even shrinks down in his seat. His comrades fail to notice the turmoil he's in, and eventually leave him behind, at which point he makes an irreversible decision. While it is hidden by the car's front seat, due to the nature of the incident, viewer discretion is advised. Throughout the chase, other drivers somewhat incredibly pull alongside the criminals to ask what's going on. At 04:06, the passenger up front throws his handgun, shown with an extended magazine, out the window. Note that the backseater hangs on to his. at 04:34, three of the four exit the vehicle and are promptly engaged by the pursuing police. The fourth man, evidently stopped by a child lock on the door, instead opts to shoot himself in the head rather than be caught.

This footage from Baltimore, Maryland shows police attempting to interdict a suspect whom they believe to be armed. Their suspicions are confirmed when, despite repeated orders to show his hands, the suspect attempts to flee while drawing a handgun near one of the officers. Before he can fire it, two Baltimore police officers open fire, striking and the suspect. Despite aid rendered by police and EMS, the suspect was pronounced dead at an area hospital. Viewer discretion is advised. The suspect, identified as Dwight Hawkins, 38 years of age, was known to Law Enforcement for previous criminal activities and was prohibited from owning the pistol which was found on-scene. It is unclear whether Hawkins fired his pistol, but at least sixteen rounds were fired during the incident.

This bodycam footage comes courtesy of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Dated 31 January 2026, the video shows Colorado Springs officers struggling with a suspect who ignored their commands and got into a police cruiser. As one officer attempted to dislodge her from the vehicle, the suspect began grabbing for the shotgun stored in the cruiser, prompting the other officer to shoot her twice. It's important to note that despite having been with the department a mere 13 months, that second officer acted quickly, decisively and accurately. Although the suspect survived, viewer discretion is advised. The suspect, identified as Micaela Pasillas, 30 years of age, was involved in a domestic dispute and initial reports indicated she had a firearm. This was not the case, although she was in possession of a large knife when CSPD arrived. She dropped the knife but did not obey any other commands, instead running to the cruiser and reaching for the shotgun. Office James McKinstry shot her through the passenger side window despite the close proximity of his partner, exhibiting consummate skill and judgment despite having just over a year with the agency. Despite her injuries, Pasillas survived and was taken to an area hospital in serious, but not critical condition. She was released following treatment to the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center, where charges are pending.

This bodycam footage comes courtesy of the Police Department in Colorado Springs. Dated 02 February 2026, it shows officers attempting to interdict a suspicious person. However, the contact turned into a chase, during which the suspect turned at shot one officer. The suspect was shot and went down, but tried to take another's officer's weapon as they attempted to effect his arrest. This resulted in the suspect being shot again, and transported to an area hospital with critical injuries. The wounded officer was treated for his non-life-threatening gunshot and released. Viewer discretion is advised. The suspect, identified as one Michael Foster, 35 years of age, had been acting suspiciously, wearing a hood and mask in warm weather and fleeing to a house known by law enforcement due to crimes committed there. The handgun he drew on the officers was confirmed to be a stolen Springfield Hellcat chambered in 9-millimeter. Foster was found to have several felony warrants, to which attempted murder of a peace officer, first-degree assault on a peace officer, 2 counts of resisting arrest, and possession of a weapon by a previous offender have been added.

This short clip shows Baltimore PD officer Cole (no relation) responding to a report that armed persons were attempting to break into a home. When the officer arrived, the group attempted to flee in a Kia, but the driver struck a parked vehicle. When the officer approached them on foot, the Kia driver put the car in reverse again and backed into the officer. As he lay on the ground, he fired at the fleeing vehicle with which they had just hit him. However, a victim who had been assaulted by the same group arrived. The officer wisely chose to give him aid and comfort rather than leave him and pursue. Ofc. Cole is a 5-year veteran and the wisdom of his experience shows in how he took care of the victim. The Kia, confirmed stolen, was found abandoned a short time later, having hit yet another vehicle. Further investigation found that the two robbers (male) and the driver (female) were all fourteen years old. Furthermore, the driver had been taken by her mother to a hospital that night to be treated for what appears to have been a gunshot graze. Officer Cole was treated at an area hospital for an injured ankle.

This compilation of dashcam and bodycam footage comes from the St. Louis County, Minnesota Sherriff's Office. On 10 February 2026, deputies attempted to interdict an erratic driver, who fled upon contact. After a PIT maneuver ended the pursuit, putting the car sidelong in the middle of the road, the suspect opened fire from inside. This prompted the deputies to return fire, striking him. The suspect was pronounced dead on-scene, with no deputies or bystanders harmed. Viewer discretion is advised. A handgun and spent brass were recovered from the car of the suspect, who was identified as one Donald Felver III, 30 years of age.

This 12 December 2025 footage from Bellevue, Washington, shows police officers making contact with a complainant who made a 911 call regarding a domestic disturbance. However, the call was a ruse, and this becomes apparent when the suspect abruptly attacks the officers with a knife. One officer is seriously injured by the attacker, who is shot by his partner. Surprisingly, despite grievous wounds, all involved parties survived the incident, having received prompt and effective care at an area hospital. Despite this, due to the graphic nature of this content, viewer discretion is advised. Legal proceedings against the suspect, one Mohamed Bangura, 38 years of age, are still ongoing, and allege that the domestic incident which prompted the officers to arrive was a fabrication, and that this was a deliberate ambush of law enforcement personnel. One of the officers was slashed in the face and stabbed in the back by Bangura. Somewhat incredibly, Bangura has pled "not guilty" to the assault charges which two different cameras recorded him committing, as shown here.

This short compilation of bodycam and dashcam footage from Seattle Washington on 12 February 2026 shows local police attempting to interdict a suspected stalker, who, according to the complainant, could be armed. Her fears were confirmed when officers attempted to make contact and the suspect drew his handgun. A quick but harrowing gunfight ensued and ended with the suspect down and one officer injured. Viewer discretion is advised. The complainant, an eighteen year old woman whose identity is withheld, stated that Christopher Bowman was following her and implied that she had several cases open against Bowman and his behavior. After the gunfight, Bowman was given immediate aid and taken to an area hospital and remains in critical condition. His handgun was recovered from the scene, and the minorly injured officer was treated and released from care.
