Suspect with two knives forces lethal action

This bodycam footage from Buffalo, New York shows police attempting to detain a person who, whilst undergoing a mental health crisis, had threatened several people with knives. Although they succeeded in making contact and getting him to open the door, further compliance ceased as he advanced toward them, knives in-hand. One officer went the non-lethal route, but their TASER failed, precluding any other option but lethal force from the other officer as the person, now a threat, advanced. Viewer discretion is advised. The suspect, identified as one Charles Butler, 58 years of age, had an extensive history of violent crime. After being struck twice by the officer's gunfire, he was transported to an area hospital, where he later perished.
