Duluth car chase turns into gunfight

On 10 February 2026, deputies attempted to interdict an erratic driver, who fled upon contact. After a PIT maneuver ended the pursuit, putting the car sidelong in the middle of the road, the suspect opened fire from inside. This prompted the deputies to return fire, striking him. The suspect was pronounced dead on-scene, with no deputies or bystanders harmed. Viewer discretion is advised. A handgun and spent brass were recovered from the car of the suspect, who was identified as one Donald Felver III, 30 years of age.
