Tragedy turns traffic stop into shootout

This bodycam and dashcam footage comes from Grand Rapids, Michigan. A woman reported that a man was sending disturbing messages to her phone, was armed, and apparently intoxicated. He refused to talk to police on their first attempt at a welfare check, and on the second, he drove away in his truck. Upon being stopped, the suspect opened fire, resulting in a short but ultimately lethal exchange. Despite aid rendered and transport to an area hospital, the suspect died from injuries sustained. After the incident, family members revealed that the suspect had been struggling with the unsolved murder of his son. Viewer discretion is advised.
