Ohio Cop mag dumps unarmed suspect
This bodycam footage coming from Akron, Ohio, shows an officer responding to reports that a man was behaving erratically and in an intoxicated manner at a local bar. 911 calls further reported that the suspect was pointing what appeared to be a gun through the windows of said bar and had made threats to shoot. When the officer made contact, the suspect made a movement which was interpreted as a reach to draw a weapon. The Akron officer fired no less than 15 times, but the suspect survived. No weapon was found. Despite the suspect's survival, viewer discretion is advised. The officer made contact and immediately ordered the suspect to get on the ground, repeatedly warning him he would be shot. The suspect made a movement toward his pocket which the cop perceived as a threat, compounded by the 911 calls and dispatch information. In an approximate 18 seconds, the officer went from contact to dumping 15 rounds into the suspect. The officer calmly identified himself as Akron police and radioed in, conducting a mag change as the suspect lay wounded on the ground. Medical aid was rendered and the suspect was taken to an area hospital with what Akron Police termed "serious injuries". No weapons were found on the suspect, prompting an ongoing investigation into the reports and claims.
