Buffalo cop learns what pepper spray isn't for
This footage, courtesy of the Buffalo Police Department in New York, shows police responding to a woman acting erratically and aggressively with a knife in-hand. Attempts to verbally de-escalate the situation fail, and an officer makes the admittedly poor decision to utilize pepper spray. Because blinding them in no way keeps someone with a knife from doing knife things, the suspect manages to stab someone in the head, at which point another officer shoots her in the shoulder. Although all parties survived with minor injuries, viewer discretion is advised. After aid provided on-scene, Cynthia Gilbert, 38 years of age, was taken to an area hospital, as was her stabbing victim. She is charged with attempted murder and attempted assault. Both she and her victim recovered from their respective injuries.
