Soldier “Services” targets, collects trophies

A Ukrainian soldier shoots three Russian soldiers at close range. All three are on the ground and at least two are alive before he fires, for they can be seen moving. After shooting all three Russians, the Ukrainian soldiers take their weapons and departs the area. It is unclear if this is the culmination of a close-range gunfight or whether these Russian soldiers were wounded by other means and then dispatched. The term “servicing the target” has multiple uses. During the Gulf War it was used on occasion to refer to strikes against operational targets with aviation ordnance or cruise missiles. It was also used by some forces to reference the practice of placing two rounds into the head of potentially deceased enemy combatants to ensure that they were not feigning death.
