Russian ATV strikes mine

A Russian all-terrain vehicle strikes a mine and the subsequent explosion launches the crew skyward. Mines have proved an effective weapon for both parties in this conflict, limiting mobility throughout the battlespace. Ukrainian platforms, such as the U.S. provided MRAP and Bradley IFV can be stopped by mines, but those vehicles have performed well in terms of survivability, and Ukrainian crew members live to fight another day. Russian armor has not fared so well, and mines often ignite the fuel and ammunition, incinerating the crew. Armored vehicle losses have forced the Russian Army to resort to ATVs and dirt bikes, and though they do not “brew up” in the manner of a BMP or a T-72, the hapless crew are simply launched into space.
