Rebel atrocities alleged in Sudanese City
Footage shows some of the carnage allegedly committed by Rapid Support Force (RSF) rebels in the Sudanese City of El Fasher. RSF troops have been accused of killing at least 2,000 civilians, as well as acts of rape and torture, and more than 30,000 people are estimated to have left the city. The RSF was considered to be losing their conflict with the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), which is internationally considered as the governing body in Sudan, by early 2024. RSF troops retreated to the deserts of southern Libya, regrouped, and received large quantities of lethal and non-lethal aid from external supporting. The funding for much of that aid is considered to be the UAE, which also paid for Columbian mercenaries to fight on RSF’s behalf. In addition to weapons, vehicles, and mercenaries, the RSF were supplied with Chinese-built anti-air defenses and drones.
