Ambush on Sudan’s fury road
In a scene which might have burst from the mind of George Miller, vehicles of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) ambush a vehicle of the rebel Rapid Support Force (SAF). The SAF vehicles chase down the RSF crew, with weapons poking through holes cut in the windows. The RSF vehicle is forces off the road and comes to a stop, and the SAF troops leap from their trucks, weapons at the ready, but the RSF troops appear incapacitated or deceased. Though this video is not an indicator, support from regional actors such as UAE has permitted the RSF to grow from a ragtag group of rebels into a relatively well-equipped and capable fighting force, prolonging the conflict and transforming a civil war into a proxy war.
