New York Cop drops pistol whipper
This one's admittedly a little nuts. While investigating a possible carjacking, two police officers in Rochester, New York, witnessed a completely unrelated attempted murder. A male was observed chasing and shooting at another male, and after a short pursuit, found the armed suspect atop the victim, pistol-whipping him repeatedly. He refused to stop doing so, at which point the suspect was shot once before being taken into custody. Although all parties survive, viewer discretion remains advised. It is not immediately clear why the suspect, later identified as Lavar McKnight, 48 years of age, was attempting to kill his victim. The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the jaw, and McKnight appeared intent on finishing him off by any means necessary. After being shot, both McKnight and his victim were transported to an area hospital. However, while McKnight has thus been charged with several counts of criminal possession and usage of a weapon, to date (27 September 2025) his charges do not include attempted or premeditated murder.
