Texas Cop takes gunshot and finishes the fight
This compilation of dashcam and bodycam footage comes from Houston, Texas. It shows several police officers responding to reports of a "suspicious person with a weapon," and exchanging fire with the suspect. During the course of the event, a Houston Police sergeant takes a round, but stays in the fight until the suspect is downed, at which point he has a tourniquet applied and a team of officers restrain the suspect. Although the suspect and the officer both survive, due to the subject matter, viewer discretion is advised. The suspect, later identified as Bobby Alverado, 36 years of age, shot a Houston Sergeant after being ordered to show his hands. However, Sergeant George barely broke his stride despite being hit, and apart from a stream of perfectly understandable invectives, he remained completely cogent and in control. He and another officer returned fire and took down Alverado, at which point medics were called to treat both Sergeant George and the suspect. At the cessation of hostilities, a partner helps the Sergeant administer a tourniquet. He demonstrates complete competency, instructing his partner to put it on high and tight. Simply put, the man's a badass. Once restrained, Alverado was treated and transported to an area hospital. He is currently in stable condition and the full list of his charges is pending, as of writing.
