Los Angeles truck theft turns into gunfight

This footage, from the Police Department in Los Angeles, California, shows their officers attempting to interdict a car thief whom they knew to be armed. The suspect, identified as one Marco Flores, 35 years of age, attempted to flee in a stolen truck before crashing the vehicle. During his bid at fleeing on foot, Flores drew his handgun and opened fire. Although he managed to hit an officer in the chest, the officer's ballistic vest stopped the round, preventing life-threatening injuries. Flores was similarly hit by gunfire. Due to aid provided and rapid transport, he survived his injuries and is currently listed as stable. No other persons were injured during the incident, for which Flores will be charged with the following: four felony counts of attempted murder, six felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm upon a peace officer, three felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, one felony count of fleeing a pursuing peace officer’s motor vehicle while driving recklessly and one felony count of possession of firearm by a felon with a prior.
