Chicago street Shootout leaves one dead
Footage captured by a bystander on February 4, 2026, around 1:25 p.m. in the 7900 block of South May Street in Chicago's Auburn Gresham neighborhood, just steps from St. Sabina Church.Gabryel Ayers, shows a group of gang members conducting an ambush style attack in broad daylight. Three assailants dressed in black clothing emerged from a red Alfa Romeo, rushed the victims' vehicle, and fired more than 50 rounds killing a 26-year-old mother and injuring her 27-year-old boyfriend while her baby was in the backseat of the car. No arrests have been made, and no motive has been publicly confirmed at the time of this writing. Chicago police are investigating, and St. Sabina Parish is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to arrests.
