Footage released by members of the West Papua National Liberation Army shows a near ambush against a pair of Indonesian Soldiers near Kiwirok in Indonesia. For those of you who are out of the loop on the on-going armed conflict in Indonesia, the West Papua National Liberation Army (TPNPB), also known as Tentara Pembebasan Nasional Papua Barat, is an insurgent group operating in the Indonesian provinces of Papua and West Papua, serving as the armed wing of the broader Free Papua Movement. The group seeks independence for West Papua from Indonesian control, viewing the region's incorporation into Indonesia in the 1960s as illegitimate, and they have dominantly acted as a guerilla force conducting ambushes, kidnappings, and attacks on infrastructure and security forces.
