Shot suspect in New Jersey won't give up

This compilation of bodycam and traffic cam footage comes courtesy of New Jersey's Jersey City Police. On September 5, 2025, two different units suspected that their vehicles had been fired upon, and converged on a suspect- one Steven Sanchez, 26 years of age, whom they saw in possession of a handgun. Sanchez pointed the weapon at one of the officers, who promptly exited his vehicle and shot Sanchez. Despite his mortal injury, Sanchez charged the officers while firing his weapon (later determined to be a compressed air pellet gun) and attempting to grapple. During the struggle, Sanchez is seen reaching for an officer's handgun, but is overpowered and placed in custody. Despite aid rendered on-scene until EMS arrival, Sanchez was pronounced dead after being transported to an area hospital. One of the officers suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
