Future combined arms on World War I Battlefield
Long form video from the K2 Battalion of Ukraine’s 54th Mechanized Brigade revealing how the future of tactical combined arms is executed on a battlefield of the Great War. The image of a landscape scarred by trenches, dugouts, and shell craters might easily be confused with the Somme circa 1916 but is in fact a modern European country. The footage shows Russian infantry engaged by drones, artillery, and direct fire weapons. The grunts take cover inside trenches after being engaged with indirect or direct fire weapons, and are then eliminated by FPV drones. Drones and frighteningly accurate mortar fire hunt the Russians within their own trenches. With the enemy neutralized or killed, Ukrainian troops gain a foothold and clear the trench system.
