Soldier stares at burning drone and is exploded

For some soldiers, death hunts for them on the battlefield, while others run towards death with open arms. A Russian soldier collects the fragments of a disabled FPV drone and tosses the pieces onto a fire. He then sits and stares at the drone as it burns and is injured when the weapon explodes. In the book Generation Kill, the Marines advise each other to “never pet a burning dog.” Perhaps a corollary to that maxim is to “never stare at a burning drone.”

Drone shaped charge smokes Russian Soldier

Intense footage of a Ukrainian FPV drone equipped with a shaped charge stalking a team of Russian soldier. The drone fires its shaped charge from about ten meters away, striking one of the soldiers with the blast and presumably killing him. On a battlefield rife with danger, finding a new way to die is a rare occurrence.

Drone blast kills Russian and causes landslide

Reconnaissance and FPV drone footage released by Ukrainian forces shows the elimination of a Russian soldier that's caught out in the open. Moments before impact, the Russian tries to jump down a hill into some water to avoid the drone pilot, but that ends up not working out. The pilot was skilled enough to maneuver the drone in a manner that allowed him to loop back around for a second attack run, which ends up directly impacting with the soaking wet Russian. Because the blast happens so close to the hill, there's also a follow on landslide that covers the Russian that was the target of the attack. Even if the Russian survived the drone strike, the mail-in ballots were not in his favor.

Honda fit vs near ambush

A short video filmed during an ambush in Myanmar captures the moment a Burmese military captain is killed on the Yangon-Mandalay road near Taungdwingyi in the Magway region. It's unclear which rebel faction the recording fighters are with, as that was not publicly released with the footage. Never in my life did I expect to see what appears to be a Honda Fit on the receiving end of a near ambush, but here we are.

The never ending drone gauntlet

Cell phone footage recorded by a Russian soldier moving logistics around the battlefield shows him running the Ukrainian drone gauntlet in an attempt to resupply frontline positions and evacuate casualties to rear-positions for medical care. The footage was recorded in the Zaporizhzhia region of Ukraine in June of 2026. It's unclear what unit the individual soldier is with.

A compilation of FPV drone video released by Ukrainian sources captures several attacks against Russian targets of opportunity. No further context or information was released with this video as of the time of this writing.

Ukrainian Infantry Caught in the Open

A compilation of drone strikes recorded by Russian forces near Konstantinovka shows exposed Ukrainian troops being exploited in a series of attacks by Russia's SOUTH Group. The footage was released on June 18. 2026 with no additional context outside of the release authority and location.

Alone and hunted in the woods

Footage from the Ukrainian SIGNUM Battalion shows drones picking off lone Russian soldiers in the heavily forested area of the Lyman front. The Russians dash from tree to tree, hoping the vegetative structure will provide cover, but the expert drone pilots have no trouble avoiding the obstacles to deliver deadly strikes.

Signum drones stalk and slay in Lyman

This compilation of FPV drone strikes comes from Ukraine's 59th Assault Brigade, which operates under the sobriquet "Signum". Here, they're shown attacking Russian troops and vehicles in Lyman on 21 June, 2026. Neither running nor camouflage spares the Russians, and a variety of vehicles, including a possible Russian ground drone, are pummeled as well. While some might question the cost-to-benefit logic behind wasting a drone to completely destroy something as inconsequential as a dirt bike, there's certain psychological value in being seen to attack anything and everything Russian. Because bodies are shown up-close, viewer discretion is advised

Steel lions crush Russian Assault in Lyman

This compilation shows Ukraine's 63rd Mechanized Brigade, otherwise known as the Steel Lions. Their heavy bomber drones- likely of the type commonly referred to as "Baba Yaga"- are targeting Russian infantry here, reportedly putting the kibosh on an assault which the troops were massing for. Emphasis on "were"- soldiers are sent bouncing off trees or simply disappearing as the powerful explosives detonate. This compilation was first released on 22 June 2026.

Russian sells out buddy, gets killed anyway

Footage from a Ukrainian drone shows a war torn trench line with a pair of temporarily alive Russian soldiers. One of the Russian soldiers tells the drone to bomb his buddy instead and points out his position and describes the manner in which he is laying using hand signals. The drone operator obliges the man's request and makes a devastating grenade drop on the cowering buddy, ending him. The Russian blue falcon seems surprised when the drone suddenly hovers over his position and realizes he needs to rapidly move out of the area, but he doesn't have the strength, will, or time to do what is needed and the drone drops a grenade on him as well, inflicting severe injuries for which he is likely not to recover or be rescued.
