Drone forces troops into Dystopian Hellscape

Reconnaissance drone video released by Russian sources captures the moment a failed FPV drone strike forces a fireteam-sized element of Ukrainian soldiers out into a dystopian hellscape. Moments after abandoning their defensive position, one of the Ukrainian soldiers decides to end his own life. Shortly after that, the Ukrainian at the front steps on a landmine and has his leg blown off. The third surviving Ukrainian is then forced to abandon his wounded comrade in order to find assistance, all while being chased by Russian FPV drones and attempting to dodge incoming Russian artillery or mortars. The Russo-Ukraine War has entirely devolved into some kind of dystopian techno nightmare where the air is full of fiber-optic cables, the landmines chase the infantry, and suicide seems like a viable option to make it through the day while the rest of us watch it all on the internet.

Russian helps Ukrainian drone kill him

Crazy footage from the Ukrainian 63rd Mechanized Brigade shows a failed kamikaze drone strike against a seated Russian soldier. The Russian appears to accept his fate and allow the drone to run into him. When the flying bomb doesn't detonate and crashes to the ground, he picks it up and manually detonates it in his own face, sealing his demise.

Close range ambush on Russian Troops

Reconnaissance drone footage released by Ukrainian sources captures a close range ambush against a pair of Russian troops who are caught out in the open. According to the source of the footage, Ukrainian infantry conducted the attack near Hulyaipole, which resulted in both Russians being killed almost instantly. This is exactly how you want your ambush to go. You load in, set up, and wait for the enemy to walk into your killbox. If the ambush is over within just a few seconds, you know that you did everything right. If your ambush turns into a gunfight, then you're either fighting a very skilled enemy, or you did something massively wrong.

Russians have incredibly bad day

GoPro footage released by Russian sources captures the moment a Russian patrol is hit by an FPV drone. Moments later, while trying to medically evacuate one of their wounded troops, they start taking accurate artillery fire from Ukrainian cannons. I believe this footage may have been released earlier, back in late 2024 or early 2025. I think it might also already be in our archive, but I wasn't able to find it in our archive after searching, which means this might be a repost. That said, it's currently circulating across social media again today. In some instances, it's being posed as fresh combat footage, but I don't believe that's the case in this instance.

Brutal drone strike released by Russians

Footage released to the internet by the Russian forces with the VOSTOK Group 5th Army 57th Guards Brigade shows a fiber-optic attack against what appears to be a badly injured Ukrainian infantryman in the open. There's a lot of weird stuff happening in this footage. It's unclear if this is an actual attack, an AI generated piece of combat footage, or an attack against some kind of dummy target that was set up by Ukrainian forces in the area. What's strange is it doesn't look like the target moves at all, except for very briefly around the 9 second mark where the arm on the left hand side of the screen seems to move just slightly. This could be an optical illusion caused by the drone dropping in altitude. The team has been discussing this one in our group chat, and we're not sure what to make of it. Let us know down in the comments section what you guys think.

Russian drops loads of cash after drone strike

Strange reconnaissance drone footage published by Ukrainian sources captures the moment a lone Russian infantryman is killed by an FPV drone strike. Upon his death, the Russian drops what appears to be thousands of dollars in paper currency for some reason. We don't really have context or a proper explanation for this one. It's unclear if this guy was robbing nearby houses when he was spotted, or maybe he was the guy responsible for ensuring troops in the field had access to cash. We'll likely never actually know the answer to this one.

Russian troops using a pickup truck to haul a large amount of munitions to the front line were struck by a Ukrainian FPV drone. The troops try scattering for cover as the drone draws near, but the immediate cookoff of the stored ammunition and fuel creates a massive and powerful fireball that consumes all six of them.

Russians change their mind mid surrender

A pair of Russian soldiers were detected by a drone, as they were infiltrating into Ukrainian held territory. A Ukrainian special operations forces team rolled out to intercept the enemy pair. Upon reaching the Russians location, the Ukrainian troops were able to convince one of the men to surrender. After a discussion with their prisoner, they all decide they can probably talk the other man into giving up as well. So they march the captive back into the building to confront the last remaining enemy soldier, but instead of surrendering, he throws a grenade and opens fire. Through the darkness and chaos, it's hard to see exactly what happened, but both Russians ended up dead.

Infantryman by the railroad struck by drone

Drone footage recorded by Russian soldiers conducting combat operations near Kupiansk shows an FPV attack against an exposed Ukrainian infantryman by a railroad track. The drone targets and eliminates the soldier with a direct hit to his upper body, and a second drone flies by the area to conduct a follow on attack, which turns into a battle damage assessment instead. According to the source of this footage, the attack was carried out by the fiber-optic reconnaissance drone unit from the 7th Guards Mountain Air Assault Division.

Russian loses deadly game of ring around the Rosie

FPV drone footage released by Ukrainian sources captures the last moments of a Russian soldier's life somewhere in Ukraine. The footage was published by Ukraine's 414th Strike UAS Brigade, and it was released to social media on April 20, 2026 without any further context. While I don't have first hand experience, I think it's safe to say that with drones, much like with improvised explosive devices, where there's one there's two is probably a good thing to remember. If a drone pilot has you in his camera view, the second drone pilot is likely already on the way to your position to conduct a follow up attack.

Wounded Russian cut in half by drone

Brutal reconnaissance drone footage released by Ukrainian sources captures the moment a wounded and unarmed Russian soldier is killed in an FPV drone attack. From the footage, it's clear that the Russian soldier is seriously wounded as evidenced by the heavy limp, but the context of the strike is incomplete as we don't know what occurred before the attack. The thing to note about this is that a wounded and retreating soldier, even if unarmed, is not considered a non-combatant. Many would take to the streets here and claim that the Soldier posed no threat, so he is out of combat and not a legitimate military target. Unfortunately, that's not how reality or the laws of war work. What you're witnessing here is the exploitation of a wounded combatant. Killing him prevents the soldier from returning with information, and from participating in a counter-attack or future offensive operations. The soldier isn't considered a non-combatant until he officially surrenders to the other side, which is a truly sticky situation that likely warrant a second look in the new age of autonomous and drone warfare. Serious questions will need to be asked later down the road, like "Can a soldier surrender to a drone?" or "Is an unarmed and wounded individual on the battlefield still a legitimate military target for drones?" But, until those questions are asked, and new answers are determined, we'll continue to see footage like this coming out of modern battlefields.

UA SOF battle amid spring greenup

Helmet cam combat footage shows Ukrainian special forces troops infiltrating a densely foliated area to confront and kill Russians amid enemy fighting positions. The Ukrainian troopers wear 3D leafy suits to conceal their outlines to enemy eyes, while the spring foliage helps block out thermal drone capabilities. Although this footage is circulating as recent, we are now multiple spring season into the Ukraine War, and this could have been recorded in a previous year with no further information to verify its authenticity.

Russian dodges 2, but not 3 FPVs

Footage shows a Russian soldier bobbing and weaving as he uses the structure of a transmission tower to outmaneuver two Ukrainian kamikaze drones that explode very near to him. Thinking the drone threat has passed, he leaves the protective obstacle to find better cover, but a third drone arrives within seconds, and that one doesn't miss.
