FPV and reconnaissance drone footage released by the Ukrainian 24th Mechanized Brigade shows a series of recent drone attacks on Russian troops near Chasiv Yar. A majority of the strikes appear to be targeting Russian troops utilizing dirt bikes and quads to expeditiously traverse the battle space. While the saying is still "Speed is Life", it doesn't appear that unprotected offroad sports vehicles are the best method for evading death by flying IED.

A Russian soldiers notices an incoming bomb drone and attempts to seek shelter in a culvert drainage pipe under a road. However, the drone pilot has skill and effortlessly flies the kamikaze FPV into the tube. The Russian acts fast and makes a break for it, but the drone detonates, sending a powerful shockwave out of the tube which launches the soldier. There isn't enough aftermath footage accompanying the video to make an accurate assessment on the effectiveness of the strike.

According to Ukrainian sources, they had gathered intelligence that Russian forces were amassing vehicles and equipment for a complex assault in a specific area of an unspecified front. The Ukrainian sent in FPV drones and found a fleet of Russian combat vehicles that, they claim, the Russians intentionally left the doors open to the motor pool in hopes the Ukrainians would destroy the fleet so they wouldn't have to go on the one-way suicide mission. We are unable to confirm the claim, but it also doesn't seem to far-fetched.

Ukrainian forces have erected over 700 miles of contiguous tunnels of anti drone netting over logistical roadways to protect resupply and evacuation routes. The scale of the endeavor shows the Ukrainians are taking the drone threat seriously, but how effective is the barrier. One would think a pair of Russian drones could compromise the system, by using the first to breach the net and the second to penetrate and fly within the tunnel where enemy vehicles are sure to be and unable to maneuver anywhere else.

On May 14, 2026, in the Korabelnyi district of Kherson, vehicles belonging to a United Nations humanitarian mission were struck twice by FPV drones during a pre-planned aid delivery operation. His old eyes fail to detect the overhead drone and he ventures out of the relative safety of the bunker. Within seconds an FPV kamikaze drone is spun up and sent to his location. He notices the incoming threat and freezes, hoping it will pass him by. It doesn't and, instead, kills him on the spot.

The Russian infantryman fires wildly from the window of a building but fails to hit his target. The drone zips in for the strike and detonates. The blast doesn't appear to be overly powerful, but it does make a direct hit, so it's likely the Russian soldier became a casualty of unknown severity.

Upon detonation, a large mid section of the building along with a good portion of the roof collapsed in on itself. It's not clear what level of casualties were inflicted against the occupying Russian unit. Ukraine has proven the efficacy of unmanned ground vehicles in their ongoing war against Russia. The wheeled drones deliver suppliers, evacuate wounded, fire projectiles, and in this case... explode.
