Ukraine's GUR on the attack in Zaporizhzhia
This compilation from 24 June 2026 shows Ukraine's Directorate of Intelligence (abbreviated in Ukrainian as HUR or Gur) attacking Russian logistics and infantry in Zaporizhzia. As the direct action arm of Ukraine's intelligence service, GUR is roughly analogous to the CIA's Special Activities Division. One GUR troop is shown wearing an interesting orange camouflage that stands out like a sore thumb against the green, but is probably a different beast within trenches and dugouts, where they have lots of hard-earned experience operating. In the second half, we see drones used to pummel luckless Russian soldiers. It goes without saying that cheap FPV drones have been worth their weight in gold to GUR units, which often embed with local partisans in occupied Ukrainian territory to sew discord and wreak havoc.

This mercifully quick clip reportedly shows a Russian soldier handling a Ukrainian FPV drone that apparently attacked his position but failed to detonate. This is already a wildly unintelligent thing to do by hand, but he takes it a step further by bringing it into the dugout. It's possible he thought he disabled it by severing the fiber optic line, but when it explodes, because of course it explodes, the effects are made so much worse by being contained in the smaller area. While both the Russians and Ukrainians do resupply entrenched troops via drone, his cutting of the line suggests that he didn't confuse this one for friendly.

Reconnaissance drone footage released by the Ukrainian 81st Airmobile Brigade captures a fire-team sized group of Russian soldiers engaging with a lone Ukrainian in the remains of a destroyed building. For a bit, the Ukrainian appears to be on the back-foot while defending his positions in the fight as the Russians maneuver towards him through the rubble. Then, at around the 1 minute mark a pair of explosives go off killing two of the Russians and pushing the third into a full retreat away from the building. The Ukrainian soldier capitalizes on this shift in the momentum by extracting himself from the situation while the remaining Russian is running away from his two wounded or dead comrades.

GoPro footage released by the Ukrainian 73rd Naval Special Operations Force shows a raid attack against a Russian position located somewhere in the Sumy region. According to the source of the footage, towards the conclusion of the raid multiple Russian soldiers surrendered to the Ukrainian operators. After being taken captive, the Russians openly complained that their command had abandoned them in place, and that they had not had a resupply in several weeks.
