While this may seem callous, dead men can't help the wounded, so this is likely some sort of SOP or poorly executed immediate action drill designed to safeguard the litter teams so that they can continue moving casualties to rear casualty collection points.It could also just be cowardice in the face of enemy fire.

GoPro footage released by Ukrainian infantry shows the infantry perspective of an assault against a Russian trench line. The footage was recorded near Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region of Ukraine, and it shows how the troops maneuver through constant artillery fire, FPV drone attacks, and enemy small arms to reach their objective.At one point in the footage, the recording soldier appears to be struck by an FPV drone. Another member of his squad quickly gets to him in order to get the wounded man into a more secure position (next to a dead Russian soldier) so he can start rendering buddy aid. The video concludes with the recording and wounded soldier discharging his pistol multiple times at what appears to be no specific target, right before another group of Ukrainians walk by their position.

Gruesome footage shows the reality of combat injuries and the simple but ingenious life-saving medical techniques that have been developed to treat them. In this instance, a Ukrainian soldier has a gunshot wound that entered his chest and exited through his back.His injury, an open pneumothorax, commonly referred to as a sucking chest wound, allowed outside air into his chest cavity, which then created enough pressure to collapse the already damaged lung, advancing the condition into tension pneumothorax, fatal if not treated.In any war prior to GWOT, this man would have likely died on the battlefield within a few minutes to hours, but due to advances in combat trauma techniques and higher levels of first-aid training bestowed on average infantry soldiers, this man's buddies were able to buy him several more hours to reach a higher level of care. In short, they applied chest seals to the wounds, which will allow no further air into the chest cavity.However, the air that did get inside the chest is still collapsing the lung. The soldier is rushed to a field hospital, where he is intubated with improvised materials (plastic water bottle and some tubing). The surgeon makes an incision into the torso and inserts the chest tube into the pleural space between the ribs and the lung. The other end of the tube is then placed inside a sealed plastic bottle, submerged in water. Each time the soldier breathes, it pushes some of the trapped air out of the pleural space, down the tube, and into the bottle. The water inside the bottle ensures the air cannot reverse direction and enter the body. Incredible stuff.

Ten minutes of thermal sniper footage has been released by the Russian Groza Snipers Group. Throughout the footage, there are minor annotations from the shooter adding minimal context to the actions seen on camera. At one point, the shooter notes that it's difficult to tell friend from foe, so they have to get permission from higher headquarters and adjacent units to take shots to ensure they aren't committing fratricide. This likely adds significant latency to some of their shots, and also reduces the efficacy of the unit's operations.

Fortunately for the Russian, he doesn't appear to be too physically injured by the strike, but you know his pride and ego definitely took a serious hit.At this time, it's unclear if this specific combat footage is in any way connected to Michael Bay announcing the release of a live action "Skibidi Toilet" film. This is also at least the fourth time we've seen a Russian targeted while they were on a toilet.
