Fleeing suspect opens fire on LAPD
This compilation of bodycam and security camera footage shows LAPD Gang Enforcement Officers conducting a stop, in suspicion that the contact has a handgun. They are proven correct when the suspect open fire as he flees. One of the officers is hit, but the suspect is arrested without being shot after an impressive tackle. Nonetheless, viewer discretion remains advised. The suspect, later identified as Ernesto Sepulveda, 26 years of age, is momentarily detained by the LAPD officers, who are operating under the suspicion that he has a handgun in his pocket. However, when Sepulveda gets off his bike, he takes off, firing his weapon as he runs. The officer closest to Sepulveda is shot in the leg and goes down. He also suffers a graze to his face. While his partner stops to help him, a second pair of officers interdicts Sepulveda, who can be seen dropping his weapon at 02:38 before running into a nearby park. One picks up Sepulveda's handgun as they chase him. One of this pair executes an NFL-worthy tackle at 02:51, scraping Sepulveda across the asphalt to a halt before feeding him a left hook that's impeccably timed against another officer slamming their car door. He, his partner, and a third arrest and cuff Sepulveda with superior numbers. The wounded officer was transported and treated at an area hospital, and is in stable condition. Sepulveda was treated for a laceration to the head, possibly as a result of the tackle or the follow-up strikes, which were deemed a "Non-Categorical Use Of Force" by LAPD.

This compilation of bodycam footage comes from Rochester, New York. Multiple calls came in regarding a person in a red jumpsuit acting suspiciously, including a report that he tried to get in someone's occupied vehicle. When police tried to make contact with the suspect, he tried to flee, at which point the officers went hands-on. The suspect resisted and afterward drew a handgun, at which point the officers shot and killed him. Viewer discretion is advised. Akintude Campbell, 38 years of age was reported by several 911 callers as exhibiting suspicious behavior, from wandering door-to-door to attempting to get in someone's car. Having an articulable reason to detain him, the officers attempt to physically restrain Campbell from leaving. He resists and creates distance, at which point they begin talking, to create a delay. However, their suspicions that Campbell has a gun are proven correct when he presents and refuses to drop it. After several warnings, Campbell still refuses to drop the weapon and is shot several times by both officers. Despite medical aid rendered, Campbell was pronounced dead on-scene by EMS. A pistol with a 13-round magazine was recovered.

This compilation of bodycam and dashcam footage comes from St. Louis County, Minnesota, and shows local police responding to an armed arsonist. Firemen attempting to put out the several fires started by the suspect came under fire, who was observed riding a lawnmower with a home-built "rifle-like weapon". When the police attempted to intervene, they were fired upon as well, resulting in an exchange of gunfire which killed the suspect. Viewer discretion is advised. Adam Clinton Wolf, 57 years of age, was spotted setting fire to his home, as well as those of his neighbors, on July 15, 2025. As the fire crew came to extinguish the fire, Wolf fired at a fireman as well as a responding police officer before fleeing. St. Louis Co. Deputies arrived on-scene and began searching for the suspect, who fired upon them as well. The Deputies returned fire, fatally wounding Wolf. Although medical aid was rendered, he was pronounced deceased. His ersatz long gun was recovered, as were several shotgun-like devices from his home.

This compilation of bodycam and traffic cam footage covers an incident which occurred on 22 June, 2025, in Rochester, New York. As the police attempt to apprehend a suspect wanted for murder, he draws and fires a handgun close to an officer's ear and is shot in return by another officer. Although all parties survived this Officer Involved Shooting, viewer discretion remains advised. Edison Estremera-Cohen, 35 years of age, was wanted for shooting and killing someone earlier in the day. Rochester officers encountered the suspect on a bicycle. The intent to stop the bike is probably why the officers closed with and went hands-on with Estremera-Cohen, despite considering him to be armed and dangerous with a known criminal history. Whether it was a calculated risk or not, it proved to be a mistake. The suspect drew a 9-millimeter handgun and fired it so close to an officer's head that despite the bullet missing, the officer still sustained injuries from the muzzle blast. A second officer returned fire and dropped Estremera-Cohen. Despite his several gunshot wounds, thanks to immediate care and rapid transport, Estremera-Cohen survived and was booked four days later for two counts of Murder 2, Attempted Murder of a Police Officer (Aggravated), Armed Robbery, and four counts of criminally possessing a firearm.

This bodycam footage comes from Lynwood, in California's Los Angeles County. Here we see county deputies responding to what was reported as a burglary in progress, only to find a dynamically evolving situation involving a hostage and a suspect attempting to stab her. Viewer discretion is advised. The suspect, later identified as Federico Rodriguez, 45 years of age, was spotted inside the home of the victim, while the victim was still inside. He appeared to be holding a pair of scissors in a weapon-like manner. When ordered to drop them, Rodriguez fled to another part of the building. Rodriguez' armed presence in the home along with the victim constituted a rapidly-evolving hostage situation. The LA County deputies began to implement a plan to rescue the victim. However, as they made entry, he was heard stabbing her. They found Rodriguez in the hallway, stabbing the victim with a knife whilst in a kneeling position (01:38). The responding officer emptied a full magazine of 13 rounds into Rodriguez before helping to extract the victim. Aid was provided on-scene to both the suspect and the victim. Although both were transported to area hospitals, Rodriguez was reported deceased sometime after transport. The knife used in the stabbing was recovered, and no other persons were injured.

This compilation of bodycam perspectives comes from Woodbridge Township, New Jersey. In accordance with a request from New York Police Department, the officers were in the middle of a murder investigation at a hotel when the suspect appeared and drew a handgun, at which point a gunfight ensued. Viewer discretion is advised. Karl Gregory, 46 years of age, was wanted in connection to a murder that occurred in nearby New York City. Having found his vehicle unoccupied in the parking lot, the Woodbridge Police began to interview potential witnesses in the hotel when Gregory appeared, carrying several backpacks. He reached into one of them and produced a handgun, resulting in a rather chaotic exchange of gunfire. It must be said that these officers put themselves in an atrocious crossfire situation, although no blue-on-blue occurred. Two officers, including a NYPD investigator, were wounded, and Gregory was pronounced dead despite field care and transport to an area hospital. The wounded officers have been treated and since released from care.

This bodycam footage, coming from Chicago, Illinois, shows police officers attempting to detain a suspect. During the hands-on struggle, one of the officers is shot in the leg, whereupon another cop shoots the suspect, killing him. Viewer discretion is advised. The Chicago Police are shown here attempting to conduct an investigatory stop on the suspect, later identified as Nathaniel Fejerang, 19 years of age. However, Fejerang instead flees, and after a short chase, he ends up being forced down by two of the officers. Among other verbal commands, "Stop reaching!" can be heard at 0:27. At the thirty second mark, a shot rings out, and one of the officers is hit in the leg. As the surrounding officers get distance and cover, one of the contact officers shoots Fejerang several times. Meanwhile, the stricken officer immediately begins self-administering a tourniquet. One of his partners takes over, placing it very high on the left leg. This is commensurate with current doctrine, which states that when searching for a specific wound location isn't feasible, it's best to go as high as possible on the injured limb. After all, blood that can't go downstream can't leak out. Furthermore, they are correct in prioritizing the wounded officer over Fejerang. The officer who shot Fejerang reports that the suspect's weapon is visible. The suspect is lying still with a rather telling pool of blood under his head. There is a general mood of disarray as the officers discuss what to do with Fejerang while waiting on medical aid for the wounded officer. Eventually, they get the wounded man into a squad car for transport to an area hospital.

This bodycam footage comes from Berrien County, Michigan, and shows a fleeing suspect feigning surrender before he draws and fires a handgun at a Sheriff's Office Deputy. Despite the extreme disadvantage of being caught with a TASER in his hands, the Deputy manages to transition to his handgun and shoot the suspect dead. Viewer discretion is advised. The suspect, later identified as Joshua Coffey, 48 years of age, was spotted on private property. When Deputy Cal Landon attempted to make contact with Coffey, the suspect fled on foot. After a short chase, Coffey pretended to surrender before drawing a handgun and taking two shots at Deputy Landon. Landon transitioned to his service weapon and dropped Coffey, who died gun-in-hand, finger on the trigger. Neither Landon nor any bystanders were reported to be wounded in the exchange.

This bodycam footage, coming from Syracuse, New York, records a recent Officer Involved Shooting. What sets this incident apart from others is that the suspect, who was reportedly firing gunshots in and around his apartment complex, was wheelchair-bound. Although the graphic moment of impact on the suspect has been censored, due to the nature of the content, viewer discretion is advised. Donnell Hogan, 42 years of age, had been allegedly firing in the building when the police officers shown here arrived on-scene. They're shown doing an objectively good job of clearing the apartment complex on their way up to Hogan, calling out the room types ("Corner fed, on the right!") and coordinating a plan as they go. There is a lot of obvious value placed on hand signals and knowing what your team will do, but that level of cohesion isn't always a given. Great communication can cover a lot of tactical shortfalls. That said, things get a little more murky when they make contact with Hogan, who is seated in his wheelchair and carrying a handgun. Officers allege that he fired first, prompting them to fire back. Similarly, at the end of the engagement, one of the officers is heard remarking that Hogan shot himself, although the official ruling has not been decided at time of writing (04 July 2025). It is worth noting that a gun was found in Hogan's possession. These officers made tactically sound decisions, but shooting a disabled person- whether they engineered the outcome or not- is never going to seem inherently just, and the optics are always going to be rough, at least at first.

Coming from Anaheim, California, this compilation of bodycam and air unit footage covers a wild vehicle chase and interdiction, culminating in eight Anaheim police officers firing at and killing the suspect. The incident stemmed from reports that the suspect had shot someone at a nearby motel. Viewer discretion is advised. Danny Cuelho, 51 years of age from La Habra, fled the scene of a reported shooting in a white Chevrolet Silverado. In a chase that lasted an approximate 45 minutes, the police attempted several PIT maneuvers before finally disabling the vehicle. Several police cruisers were used to pin the truck, at which point the officers drew their handguns on Cuelho. Understanding Cuelho to be armed, they opened fire when he did not obey commands. A total of eight officers fired on Cuelho, who was pronounced dead on-scene. A passenger in the truck was uninjured, and Anaheim police are working to discover the passenger's connection to the shooting, if any. Although it was not found during an initial search, a warrant-based search revealed a handgun in Cuelho's Tahoe. Cuelho had a lengthy criminal record which included gang activity. The initial victim was transported to an area hospital, where they are in stable condition. No other persons were injured.

This compilation of bodycam and dashcam footage comes from Macon Illinois, and captures a harrowing incident in which a machete-wielding suspect steals a police car and the long gun inside, before getting in a showdown with local law enforcement. Although all parties survive, viewer discretion is advised. Deputies from the Macon County Sheriff's Office responded to a call for service regarding a man later identified as Oscar McCurry, 38 years of age. He was reportedly waving a machete at the customers of a gas station in the area. Although the video does not explicitly show how, he apparently managed to elude the deputies long enough to get behind the wheel of a cruiser and take off. After a chase which involved a deputy taking shots at McCurry, the suspect slams the stolen vehicle into the pursuing deputy's truck ( 03:07). The deputy is shown exiting his vehicle and retreating to the tailgate for cover. Meanwhile, McCurry is parking the stolen cruiser in the middle of the road and posting up at the hood with the shotgun that was inside. The deputy, although obviously and understandably rattled if not outright concussed, runs to the fight, gun drawn- a commendable act, in and of itself. He maintains a clear line of sight on McCurry as he retreats from another officer who is advancing on the suspect with his handgun. That's a bold choice of action versus a suspect with a shotgun. However, for reasons unknown, McCurry hesitates. The Deputies don't. Amazingly, despite being shot, McCurry survived and was transported to an area hospital after a 20 minute wait. The injured deputy was taken to the hospital as well, but released same-day. McCurry's charges are still pending, and he is currently in the Macon County jail.

This bodycam footage comes from the Police Department in El Paso, Texas. The officers are shown responding to a reported fight in progress, and one of the combatants draws a pistol on the police. In the resulting gunfight, an officer is wounded and the suspect is killed. As such, viewer discretion is advised. The suspect, identified as Salvador Valdiviezo, 35 years of age, walks out of the house and points a pistol at the officers, who then open fire. In the exchange, one of the officers takes a round to her right leg. She was taken to an area hospital and admitted in stable condition. Valdiviezo, also transported to a hospital, died of his wounds. Valdiviezo was a Registered Nurse working at Three Crosses Regional Hospital in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and a US Navy veteran. With the caveat that I am not a psychologist or therapist of any kind, this record of service, in conjunction with the initial call being a fight amongst family members, suggests some sort of mental health crisis at work here.

This compilation of bodycam and dashcam footage comes from the Police Department in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. While conducting routine patrol operations, officers were flagged down by concerned citizens regarding two persons who were supposedly flashing handguns to intimidate people. When the officers made contact, a brief gunfight broke out. Although no one was killed, both a police officer and a suspect were wounded in the exchange. Therefore, viewer discretion is advised. In this instance, the names of the suspects were not given. However, when the police tried to conduct an investigatory stop in reference to the reported handguns, the two suspects, aged 19 and 39 respectively, attempted to flee. When an officer caught up to the 39-year-old and demanded he drop the gun, he refused. Both he and the officer exchanged gunfire, and both were hit by non-lethal shots. The second, younger suspect surrendered without any resistance given. Both the wounded parties were taken to an area hospital and treated for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. The officer involved has received such a good prognosis that he is reportedly already recovering at home.

This bodycam footage comes from the Police Department in Los Angeles, California. Here, we see officers responding to a 911 call which reported a stabbing. Unfortunately, although the suspect eventually dies in the course of these events, the victim also passes away due to her wounds. Viewer discretion is advised. According to the 911 call, the suspect is identified as Jose Ramos, 23 years of age. The call alleged that he stabbed his wife multiple times. Acting on this information, the police arrive on-scene and are guided to Ramos' location by neighbors and bystanders. When confronted by the police, Ramos raises the knife and gets simultaneously shot by two officers. While one uses a less-than-lethal 40-millimeter round, the other uses his service weapon. When Ramos falls, he is arrested and transported to an area hospital. He will die from his wounds shortly thereafter. While no officers or other persons were hurt, unfortunately, the stabbing victim succumbed to her injuries after also being transported to a nearby hospital.

This combination of bodycam and cellphone footage shows deputies in Lancaster, California attempting to detain a suspect wanted for an armed robbery. Bystanders look on and record as his active resistance escalates to drawing a handgun and firing as the LEOs attempt to cuff him. Viewer discretion is advised. Erik Berrios, 31 years of age, was wanted in connection to an armed robbery which was reported via 911 call. Upon contact, Los Angeles County deputies found Berrios unwilling to comply, and when they tried to effect his arrest, Berrios made an attempt to flee. As the deputies pinned him, Berrios drew a handgun. At this point, one of the deputies attempted to use a TASER. It is not clear whether Berrios deliberately fired as a reaction to being tased, or due to neuromuscular incapacitation. In either case, using a device which forces muscles to clench on an armed suspect within contact distance of officers is probably not classified as "best practice." Berrios fired a round, catching one of the deputies in the lower abdomen. This prompted the LAPD deputies to respond with lethal force. Berrios was pronounced dead on-scene despite aid rendered, and the stricken deputy was transported to an area hospital in "critical but stable" position. A 9-millimeter "ghost gun" was found in Berrios' possession. No other persons were harmed.

This compilation of bodycam footage shows cops from Houston, Texas attempting to interdict a suspect vehicle. The car, a blue Nissan Versa, had been implicated in a recent theft. The driver attempts to flee, and strikes another car in the heavy traffic. In so doing, the driver pins a police officer between the frame of the Versa and the bystander's vehicle. The pinned sergeant then shoots the suspect. Although the wounds are censored, blood is visible, which necessitates viewer discretion. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Maxie Whitaker, 42 years of age. When he tried to flee in the suspect vehicle, his attempt to squeeze through traffic instead placed Sergeant Marquez in extreme danger as two bystander vehicles squeezed the door. This caused the sergeant to fire in order to neutralize further threat. We see the incident first from a partner's view, and then the sergeant's. Whitaker was taken to an area hospital and admitted in critical condition. He has been charged with aggravated assault on a police officer. Sergeant Marquez was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

This combination of security, dashcam, bodycam and victim cell phone footage comes from Concord, California. Here, we see two suspects rob a bank before fleeing in a high-speed chase that involves multiple carjackings and culminates in an officer-involved shooting. Viewer discretion is advised. The two suspects are shown via security camera as they rob the Diablo Valley Credit Union in nearby Concord, California. One suspect, later identified as Cruz Vargas, 29 years of age- from nearby San Jose- is shown in possession of a handgun with drum magazine. Authorities will later discover the handgun has been illegally modified to fire automatically. As the two suspects flee the bank, Concord police give chase until the suspect vehicle is disabled. They remedy this by attempting several carjackings until their stolen vehicle becomes involved in a collision. Both suspects flee on foot, but Concord Police continue to chase Vargas. One of the Concord officers sees Vargas attempt another carjacking, at which point he fires, striking Vargas. He was arrested and provided medical aid and transport to a nearby hopital while San Jose police apprehended his partner, still in possession of the money. It was discovered that Vargas was on parole and his partner, Elijah Phillips, had multiple warrants. Both were charged with multiple counts of carjacking, armed robbery, and weapons violations. No other persons were harmed.

This compilation of bodycam footage shows police officers from Seattle, Washington, arriving to a domestic violence call in progress. Upon their arrival, the suspect- reportedly a former Army Ranger- retreats upstairs into his home, where he takes a parting shot at the victim. As she lies there, the Seattle cops take up a perimeter and the clock starts ticking. Due to the nature of the incident, viewer discretion is advised. Objectively speaking, this is disappointing work. The officers allow the suspect to retreat and barricade upstairs, while only meekly announcing their presence as opposed to any decisive action. Because of this, he has the initiative and chooses to use it to shoot the DV victim. Due to some mixture of what I assume is procedure and training along with fear, they leave her where she lay. Officers are similarly indecisive in telling her to move, or not to, but none of them makes any move to get the patient to safety. For almost the entirety of the five minute video she lays there bleeding while they lamely call for a medic. Eventually, one of the officers gets a shot on the suspect through the window. After this recording ended, Fire/EMS extracted and treated the victim while SWAT took over, establishing a perimeter and throwing in a phone line for negotiations. Eventually they made entry and found the shooter dead. It is unclear whether his death was self-inflicted or a result of the officers. The victim was last listed as in serious condition. A pedestrian effort that may yet cost the life of the victim.
