Burmese bard inspires the troops

Humorous cell phone footage released by members of the Kachin Independence Army captures a firefight with live background music in the form of a soldier conducting a karaoke concert for his friends. It's unclear if the group has since renamed themselves to the Karaoke Independence Army.

Magway machine gunners attempt to bag paramotor, Myanmar

This footage shows two machine gunners from the Magway People's Defense Force (PDF) using a MA16 heavy machine gun. The MA16 is a clone of Singapore's STK50 .50 caliber machine gun. Despite encountering a malfunction, they are attempting to bring down what background sound suggests is a paramotor- the propellor-and-parachute combination similar to the setups used by Hamas in Israel. Because the PDFs and related anti-junta militias have no aircraft of their own and little to no air defense, the military junta often uses light sport craft such as paramotors or gyrocopters for observation purposes which would otherwise normally be easy prey.

Magway PDF scraps with junta troops, Myanmar

This footage, provided by the Magway People's Defense Force (PDF), shows their guerilla fighters engaging a contingent of government soldiers from the junta in power in Myanmar (Burma). Here, we see the Magway fighters conducting a sort of fighting withdrawal, although it doesn't appear to be organized or planned. They take turns firing as they disengage in the opposite direction, albeit unhurriedly. In this engagement, ten Junta troopers were claimed to have been killed, with two of the Magway fighters sustaining non-threatening injuries. Dated somewhere between 23 and 27 December, this attack occurred in Pauk Township.

Anti-junta guerillas ambush Burmese government boats

This footage shows a joint action between the Chindwin Defense Force and Solo Aung Gyi, two anti- junta militias fighting in the ongoing civil war in Myanmar (Burma). Dated 08 December 2025, this ambush operation targeted two Junta-operated boats near Salingyi Township. The ambush begins with two large explosions- a common tactic in anti-junta riverine operations like these is for the guerillas to bury large canisters or pipes in the bankside and using them as ersatz cannons, to be fired as the boats pass. This is followed up with small-arms fire, as we see here.

POWs captured after gunfight

GoPro footage released by members of the Ta'ang National Liberation Army in Myanmar shows a brief engagement ending with multiple enemy fighters being captured as prisoner's of war. It's unclear exactly where this footage was filmed, but conversations online point towards it being part of TNLA operations that took place over the summer of 2025 near either Shan or Mandalay.

According to the source of the video, the recon device was being used by the Tatmadaw Junta to recon Myaing rebel positions and troop movements. In some instances, the paramotors are also used as a cost saving device to conduct small airstrikes.

Junta drones attack Arakan Army, irony to follow

This compilation of drone footage shows the Myanmar military using drone-dropped munitions to attack the anti-junta Arakan Army at Kyaukphuyu Meteorological Radar Station. After causing the AA fighters to withdraw, the junta forces celebrated with a group photo at the same location, got literally bombed by a vengeful Arakan Army artillery unit. This video sets up a pretty severe karmic bitch-slap.

Anti-junta militias collaborate on mining convoy ambush

This compilation of drone and GoPro-style footage shows three different anti-junta militias collaborating to spring an ambush on a mining convoy in Myanmar. The Brave Heart Army, Chindit Fighter Group and Monywa Dynamite worked together to destroy a convoy owned by the Wanbao Mining Company, which was being escorted by troops from the ruling junta in current control of Myanmar. The ambush is punctuated by an explosion- presumably an IED or mine, and small arms fire. Three of these soldiers were killed and six wounded, at the cost of one anti-junta fighter wounded.

Dawei PDF units attack junta troops in Tanintharyi

This collection of footage shows a collaborated attack on pro-junta troops in Tanintharyi, Myanmar (Burma). The Dawei Defense Team (DDT) and 2nd Battalion of Dawei's People's Defense Force (PDF) are shown using various small arms, including AK and AR pattern rifles, to fire on Junta soldiers. They then pile a large number of troops into two small pickups in a manner that would almost be humorous, but for the fact that the Myanmar military uses drones and these two trucks would make a tempting target. However, the PDF troops appear to get away with it this time.

Anti-junta forces spring ambush with 3D printed weapons

This quick and admittedly low-resolution clip shows an anti-junta People's Defense Force (PDF) launching an ambush on a pro-government police vehicle in Myanmar (Burma). While this in and of itself may seem unremarkable, what's noteworthy about this incident is that the PDF fighters are allegedly using FGC-9 9-millimeter carbines. These are 3D-printed firearms whose design was specifically created to subvert gun control efforts, use minimal outside parts, and have a build time of approximately two weeks- all of which are ideal for guerrilla units seeking to operate clandestinely with low overhead. Rough estimates put the cost of an FGC-9, including the printer needed to make it, at around $500. It bears mentioning that the inventor of the FGC-9, Jacob Duygu, is a German Kurd, although this doesn't necessarily mean he has any paramilitary ties.

Multi-unit anti-junta force ambushes Burmese troops

This footage shows a mixed element of anti-junta fighters from the People's Revolution Front, Student Armed Force, and People's Democratic Army as they ambush government troops in Pauk Township, Burma (also known as Myanmar). This is alleged to have occurred on 17 October, 2025. Although the government forces are too far away to really see the efficacy of the attack, this footage is somewhat rare in that it shows the anti-junta forces' target, as opposed to them simply shooting.

Complex militia-on-militia violence in Myanmar

This footage comes from the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) as they attack the camp of a completely separate but similarly named faction- the Arakan Army (AA). These are very broad strokes for a very complicated issue, but bear with me. ARSA claims to represent the Rohingya people- a primarily Muslim minority primarily living in Rakhine who have been oppressed throughout Myanmar/Burma's history. However, while ARSA fought the junta in the early years of the war, they effectively changed sides in 2024 and have committed several human rights violations. The Arakan Army (AA) is still an anti-junta faction. It officially exempts Rohingya people from conscription, but they may, and many do, volunteer. The AA and ARSA both have committed human rights violations.

Anti-junta fighter slam dunks grenade into police truck

In this blink-and-you'll-miss-it piece of security footage, a member of an anti-junta militia is shown holding onto the back of a police truck, throwing a grenade in, and rolling away. As the truck rolls in the opposite direction, the grenade detonates in the bed which ostensibly has troops inside. With a bit of a completely understandable limp, the insurgent disappears into the hustle and bustle of Meiktila, Mandalay. This occurred on 12 October, 2025.

Myanmar PDF fighter doing it for the 'Gram

This video comes courtesy of a fighter with the PDF Zoland, a People's Defense Force militia fighting in opposition ofthe currently established military junta in Myanmar/Burma. While footage of the various militias commonly seems to focus on who's doing the shooting rather than who they're shooting at, this guy takes aura farming to another level with a Go-Pro mounted on his rifle. This is a filming technique we see used in a lot of modern action movies, such as the "Extraction" series or "1917". Putting extra weight on your rifle solely to look cool is questionable, but to give credit where it's due, he is one of a very few recorded PDF fighters to manage to load his rifle without placing it on the ground to do it.

Junta forces begin using FPV drones

Reconnaissance and FPV drone footage released by Junta forces conducting combat operations in Madaya shows an FPV drone attack against a building allegedly being used by rebel forces in the Mandalay region. While this isn't the first time we've seen drones used in Myanmar, it is one of the first times that we have seen FPV drones being used by the government end of the conflict.
